LAND SYSTEMS, LAND-USE, AND NATURAL HAZARDS IN THE LOWER BINO BASIN (LESSER HIMALAYA), INDIA

Describes the results of a pilot field study of landforms in relation to land use and natural hazards perception in an area of high population density. Furthermore, it aims to document local knowledge of the physical environment coupled with the study of the perceived natural hazards on the river terrace. The assumption is that both land use and response to natural hazards are grounded in a shared body of environmental knowledge.
