The impact of learning strategies and learning styles on the feeling of success or failure in foreign language learning

摘要
The study presented in this paper aims at understanding and describing the relationships between learning strategies and learning styles and the feeling of success or failure in the learning of a foreign language among French university students majoring in another discipline. A questionnaire on learning strategies and styles was designed and administered. 128 French university students replied to our survey. We analyzed their answers through statistical tests by using the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) software. The results of this study show that some strategies such as contacts with native speakers, and some styles, such as auditory preference in listening training, are correlated positively with the perception of success in the learning of foreign languages.
