In this paper we present the experimental results of the time dependence of the specimen acoustic impedance. The experiment was carried out with the specimen in the ultrasonic plastic welding state, by the ultrasonic constant vibrational velocity method. In particular, the acoustic reactance was obtained by improving the conventional method of calculating acoustic stiffness. Furthermore, the acoustic impedance was measured for various vibration amplitudes and static clamping pressures. In this study, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) resin rods were used as specimens. It was concluded from the results of experiment that the resistance and reactance could be determined individually by our method, and the absolute value of the impedance was calculated from the known resistance and reactance.
