摘要：
The ability of a monolayer to retard the evaporation of the water on which it is spread is often reported as the fractional reduction in evaporation rate. This fraction varies with the experimental conditions. Its relationship with evaporation resistance, an absolute measure of the effect, and with various environmental factors is described.
