The Paradoxes of the historical concept by Moses of Khoren

The article is dedicated to the analysis of the historical views of the first Armenian historian Moses of Khoren. In the circumstances created by the struggle for independence the image of the past shaped by the historical works by the Armenian authors of the 5-7th cc. should have preserved the memory of the heroic deeds of the people of Armenia for the successive generations and should have strengthened the nation's self-conscience. But the story told by Moses of Khoren holds both the number of historical errors and inaccuracies, and the episodes that contradict the idea of Armenian patriotism. The article analyses there paradoxes.
