ACTIONS ON TRANSPARENCY AND OPEN GOVERNMENT IN CASTILLA Y LEON

This article provides an overview of ctions that have been carried out by the Government of Castilla y Leon concerning openness and citizens involvement in government affairs. Castilla y Leon has been the first vanish region where the highest governing body has assumed the commitment, through an agreement, published on march 9th, in which the actions to be developed and their specific deadlines were fixed, in order to raise the transparency levels and to facilitate citizens participation within the plannification and drawing of laws, plans and strategies. The regional government assumes as well the compromise to keep up with Social Media in order to come closer to the citizens, as it is a good formula to improve the transparency and incentive the participation of citizenship.
