摘要
The level of political representation of rural women has been analyzed from the perspective of the size of municipalities. But this is not enough to understand the social dynamics of communities, which being smaller than others, however show comparable parity rates higher than those of urban environments. In this paper we analyze the municipal election results in two regions of Extremadura from 1979-2011. The study of political behavior, from a gender perspective, in small rural communities, can help to understand the dialectic vs. equality gender inequality. Relevant factors are equal settings of small towns increased exposure to the influence of urban centers, local economic dynamism and a higher level of education among peoples, among others.
