Avant-garde Manifest: Between Poetic and Political Revolution

This article considers art manifestos of the Russian Futurists in terms of the reciprocity of the avant-garde and political discourses' features. The fundamental change in the manifesto genre that occurred in the second half of the 19th century and manifested itself primarily in the political "Manifesto of the Communist Party" necessitated this approach. Following the political manifesto reform focused on the search for a new language of revolution, quest for a new language of art that can change art and empirical reality was the basis of the avant-garde aesthetics that expressed in futurist manifestos. The article reveals characteristics of language and deictic organization of the Russian futurists' manifests, as well as general typological and particular features of the avant-garde and political discourses.
