MECHANISM OF RIBBON FORMATION IN SINGLE-ROLLER QUENCHING

摘要
Computer simulations show that the empirical power law relating the strip thickness and the characteristic time is valid for any value of the heat transfer coefficient in the time range accessible for experiments. The relation of the exponent to the formation mechanism of the strip is discussed. It is demonstrated that only exponents derived from experiments with a constant heat transfer coefficient are characteristic of the mechanism of strip formation. © 1990.
