INFLUENCE OF MULTISITES IN THE ENERGY-TRANSFER OF CHROMIUM AND NEODYMIUM DOUBLY DOPED GGG CRYSTALS

摘要
By using a high resolution fluorescence technique, a systematic study of the different crystal field sites appearing in Gd3Ga5O12: Nd3+, Cr3+ has been performed. Five Nd3+ sites (denoted as α, β, γ, δ and ε) have been detected and only one of them (ε) appears as a consequence of the presence of Cr3+ ions. Decay time measurements show that Cr3+ → Nd3+ energy transfer takes place in the five Nd sites but more efficiently in the new ε site. © 1990.
