THE POLITICS OF RESEARCH IN THE PAPER-INDUSTRY

A presentation of the field of research in the German pulp and paper industry includes the naming of institutes concerned with technological and environmental questions of our branch of industry in general. The arrangements are described which apply to the internal research funding system of the Association of German Papermills (VDP). It consists of a committee for research and technology and the INFOR research council. It is also described how research projects are discussed and coordinated and how the results of research are brought to the knowledge of member firms of the association. In conclusion certain definite future tasks are listed.
