3-DIMENSIONAL REPRESENTATION AND ESTIMATION OF RETAIL STORE DEMAND BY BICUBIC SPLINES

摘要
The demand-deity data available from trade area surveys are measured at irregularly spaced Points and thus need to be converted to grid data that are suitable for the estimation of retail store demand. This paper shows a series of data processing methods consisting of spatial filtering, gridding, and interpolation applied for sample to grid and grid to grid data conversions. A combination of the moving average method with bicubic spline gridding and interPolation Provides an effective means of representing demand surfaces in three dimensions and of estimating trade-area populations.
