摘要：
The data for machine cell formation in cellular manufacturing is organized in a machine-component chart that represents the machining requirements of parts in the product mix. While the composition of the product mix is determined by demand and is probabilistic in nature, the existing machine cell formation models treat it as deterministic. This could adversely affect the performance of the associated cellular manufacturing system. To overcome this problem, a probabilistic machine cell formation model is presented here.
