HIGH-TEMPERATURE BEHAVIOR OF FINEMET RIBBONS IN THE AMORPHOUS AND IN THE NANOCRYSTALLINE STATE

Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9 ribbons were studied in the amorphous as well as in the nanocrystalline state. For characterizing the quenching rate, the disaccommodation and the temperature coefficient of the electrical resistivity were used. The temperature dependence of the coercivity in the amorphous state was analysed using a two-ion model. The temperature dependence of the coercivity In the nanocrystalline state shows a maximum above the ordering temperature of the amorphous matrix, which is related to the amount of nanocrystals.
