The authors present a case of Filaroidosis observed in a young eleven-month old Yorkshire terrier. The animal had previously been treated unsuccessfully for a << kennel cough >> although the corticotherapy had temporarily resulted in a remission of the symptoms. The parasitological diagnosis was made following the discovery of nematode larvae as a result of biopsy of the lungs. These larvae were found to be abundant in the fecal matter and identified as belonging to the Filaroides (s.l.) type. Given the epidemiological clinical, radiological and parasitological data, the most probable species was F. hirti. It was the first description of this parasite in France. The main knowledge concerning this parasitical condition are recalled.
