THEORY OF SPACE-TIME DIFFRACTION TOMOGRAPHY WITH SCANNING BY A SINGLE TRANSCEIVER IN THE PLANE

摘要
An acoustic tomography method is proposed, which is based on measurement of the time dependence of the signal reflected from inhomogeneities in planar scanning by a single transceiver. A simpler measurement technique is achieved by using several frequencies in the received signal. Two types of inhomogeneities are investigated: inhomogeneities of the sound velocity and inhomogeneities whose boundaries correspond to Dirichlet- or Neumann-type boundary conditions. The method is based on the determination of the inhomogeneity function in the spectral domain using the first Born approximation. From the computational point of view, the method mainly entails the determination of both one-dimensional and multidimensional fast Fourier transforms. The proposed method is compared with other well-known methods in the literature.
