THE IMPACT OF NEOLIBERAL POLICIES IN HIGHER EDUCATION

This is the study of different theoretical contributions recognized as academic rigidity to the analysis of marked value incorporated to Higher Education and assigning to it the function of mere deliverer of information, techniques, and utilitarian knowledge based on the rational individualism and disconnect from any subjectivity. Due to this reality the development of the mercantilist concept of Man and Society, make it difficult to the individual the full appropriation of knowledge and the mobility conditions to reach the citizenship. The theoretical discussions demonstrate that what is on the table to Higher Education and to society in general is the challenge which imply the professional and social formation which should be less related to the market culture and, to do so it is necessary to strength the struggle that tend to logics which are opposite to the exclusive concern of the present economic model.
