Numerical study on effect of joints on blasting wave propagation in rock mass

摘要
The discontinuous deformation analysis (DDA) method embedded with viscous boundary condition is used to simulate blasting wave propagation in jointed rock mass. The effect of the joints on wave propagation is studied; and the results show that the joints existing in rock mass are beneficial to wave attenuation. The more joints rock mass contains, the stronger wave reflection is, and the weaker wave transmission is. A field test of underground blast is numerically investigated; the simulated results are compared with the test data; and the law of blasting wave propagation and attenuation is obtained. The results indicate that DDA is applicable to simulate the propagation and attenuation of blasting waves in jointed rock mass.
