The magneto-optical Kerr effect and magnetic properties of RE-TM/Pt multilayers are investigated (RE-TM = TbCo, TbFeCo, GdTbFeCo). The Kerr rotation of the RE-TM/Pt multilayers with amorphous Pt layers is larger than that of the Pt/Co multilayer in the region of 550-800 nm wavelength for next generation high-density magneto-optical memory.
