摘要
In both Sikh and Jewish scriptures and histories, there can be found numerous, notable similarities and parallels. This article analyzes a small portion of those parallels in an attempt to derive a picture of collective and cultural identity for both traditions. The first half of the article begins with a discussion of similar ideas of 'nation' and also engages the use and interaction of scriptural narratives in their conception. The second half discusses the prevalence of sacrificial imagery and the necessity of sacrifice and gift in the formation and continuity of both traditions.
