摘要
The increased knowledge of gene-nutrient interaction will change the management of sanitary epidemics of the XXI century: obesity, metabolic syndrome and type II diabetes, all of which lead to heart disease and cancer. Currently, these diseases may be prevented and the management of these diseases could improve by means of nutrigenetic. This new field of molecular nutrition comprises two aspects: the action of certain nutrients on the regulation of genetic regulation (nutrigenomic) and the way that genetic structure of individuals responds to some nutrients (nutrigenetic). This paper focuses on some discoveries related to clinical uses reached by nutrigenetic and nutrigenomic in the last years, particularly the gene-nutrient interaction conferred to fatty acids. The paper shows our researches with a practical clinical approach.
