THE ROLE OF "EURASIA" CHANNEL IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF TRANSIT POTENTIAL REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

Conducted review of materials characterized positively and negative implications construction of a channel connecting the Caspian Sea with a Azov-Black Sea system. Presents the characteristics water transport channel parameters, their comparison with alternate embodiment, current and projected cargo flows. Shown advantage of water transport before other kinds of vehicles. Presents the main technical and economic characteristics compared variants aqueous vehicles. Basic technical economic characteristics variants of water transport system accepted design and survey and Research Institute of "Hydro Project" named after S. Y. Zhuk in comparative evaluation construction of a new navigable canal between the Caspian Sea and the Azov-Black Sea basin indicate that in terms of energy costs on transportation of cargoes and cost of their transportation channel "Eurasia" in comparison with the second branch channel "Volga-Don" more cost-effective. On the channel "Eurasia" intensity of vessel traffic will be significantly smaller (because of navigation conditions better load capacity vessels twice as much and as a consequence of the courts themselves twice less). Variant of construction the transit route "Khorgos - Aktau - channel Eurasia"causes a increased interest in China, as it allows decrease the distance of transportation cargo from China to Europe twice in comparison with sea lane. In case of construction of the channel "Eurasia" China is ready sharply increase a stream their products to the West through Kazakhstan at cheapening transportation costs.
