摘要
Columnar mesophases are formed by the diskshaped dimers of 6(5H)‐phenanthridinones 1 (R = n‐C8H17, n‐C10H21, n‐C12H25). The stacks of self‐organized dimers are packed in a hexagonal arrangement. On cooling from the isotropic phase the growth of the liquid crystal is dendritic, which is typical for the formation of columnar phases. (Figure Presented.)
