摘要
We studied the kinetics of the initial stages in the local depassivation of iron-chromium alloys in a chloride-containing borate buffer. Chromium contents in each alloy's critical region affected the shape of the plot for the content vs pitting potential (E(pit)). This was postulated to be due to a higher surface chromium content during film dissolution accelerated by chloride. The effect of chloride concentration on the induction period was considered.
