SCHOOL MANAGEMENT AS THE FOCUS OF THE QUALITY EDUCATION DISCOURSE

摘要
In this work, we aim to analyze the importance attributed to the school management in the last years, as a way of reaching the quality in education. A qualitative methodology is used, having as reference the analysis of the French line discourse, derived from Michel Pecheux and handled by Michel Foucault. It can be stated, as a result of this work, that improving the quality in education is an irrefutable premise; it is true in our times. However, transferring this responsibility to school is blaming it for probable failures of this project, making the educational crisis and the problems experienced by the school even worse, because in order to achieve the quality in education it is necessary the federal organisms cooperation, as it is stated by the Educational Law number 9394/96. The solution is not to transfer this function exclusively to the school, as long as it is a structural problem that must be in the core of the federal, state and municipal educational policies. This is explained by the fact that educational quality is not limited merely by school management; it also involves questions such as infrastructure, school material, teachers' formation, salary, among others.
