摘要
The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of gender and attitudes to computers on the performance of Chinese keyboard skills of business vocational high school students. The instruments used in this study included a Personal Information Form, a Computer Attitude Scale, and Chinese keyboard skills testing software. The student t-test and covariance analysis was applied to test the difference of the performance of Chinese keyboard skills between different gender and computer attitudes. The paired t-test was utilised to test the difference between pre-test and post-test of Chinese keyboarding and computer attitude. Multiple regression analysis and other statistical procedures were also used to analyse the data of this study. The main findings of this study can be summarised in three parts. First, females had better past-test scores than males. Second, there were significant differences between the pre-test and post-test of computer attitudes and the performance of keyboarding. The third finding was that students' post-test scores of keyboarding was affected by the pre-test score of keyboarding and pre-test scores of computer confidence.
