Participatory and multidisciplinary approach in prevention of musculoskeletal disorders

This paper describes an ergonomic intervention developed by a multidisciplinary team at a transformer production industry. The intervention process was developed in the context of participation and focused on the human-machine interaction during the activity; in particular, the consequences that stem from the fact that these displays are not developed in a user centered approach. Beyond the description of the particular context of the intervention and methodological procedures, we discuss the main results, which point towards the need for a redesign of the workplace.
