In this study I try to analyse, from my own historical-critical perspective, the influence of the Internet on the musicological research. I am concerned particularly about the following questions: 1. What object is this influence materialized into, that is, what kind of an insight does the Internet offer musicology? 2. Is this a positive or a negative influence? 3. Does the impact of the internet on the musicological research change, or does it not change, the profile of the 21st century musicologist?
