AUTOBIOGRAPHIES IN MINIATURE. NOTES AND REFLECTIONS ON CHILDREN CORRESPONDENCE

Letters are not the only way of the children expression of itself, but they have constituted the genre of writing more employed by children during centuries in order to leave tracks of them. This article pretends to be a general reflection on children correspondence, center its attention on the role play by letters like builder of identity and pedagogical tool, became institutionalized in schools between XIX and XX centuries. In other hand, it looks over the uses that children have made of epistolary writing during history, and also the principal functions that letters accomplish in their lives according to its typologies and finalities. Finally, it marks the main characteristics of children correspondence that all researches must know when make letters their study object.
