Legal Regulation of the Institute of Joint Investigations in the Criminal Matters under European Union Law

During last few years Russia signed and ratified number of international agreements, that regulate pressing issues on international cooperation in combating crimes. Along with legal regulation of traditional legal institutions these documents lay down the foundations of new directions of cooperation in this sphere. One of them is joint (international) investigation. International legal regulation presuppose necessity of implementation of the provisions on joint investigation into domestic law, and this process nowadays is seriously behindhand from the needs of practice. Thereupon positive experience of legal regulation of joint investigations in EU law is of interest. This article is devoted to examination of such experience.
