NETWORK ARCHITECTURE AND SIGNALING SYSTEM FOR DIGITAL MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS-SYSTEM

This paper describes a digital mobile communications network architecture, and outlines the services, inter-office signalling architecture and signalling protocol structure at the radio interface. The concept of functional hierarchies for mobile communications networks is described. ISUP(ISDN User Part) and MAP (Mobile Application Part) are applied to inter-office signalling. The OSI model is applied to the structure at the radio interface and the layer 3 protocol is based on the/interface.
