Edith Stein and Simone de Beauvoir: Philosophy, Feminism and Life Experience

Simone de Beauvoir is essential for the understanding of the development of Women Studies, whereas, Edith Stein is little known in this field. The objective of this work is to establish a dialogue between the two philosophers; both rejected philosophical sexism and gave its critical function back to philosophy. The reference to "life experience" alludes at the consistency between their own lives and their feminist philosophy: Stein's autobiography presents a "wise mother" while de Beauvoir's announces the birth of the "free woman".
