摘要
General anaesthesia is often used by equine practitioners. Its induction still needs to be driven very carefully, because of the risks of accidents or postoperative complications. Thus, such a management involves a methodic and careful preparation. The whole procedure must be perfectly controlled in all its bearings, from the administration of anesthetics till the techniques for leading horses to recumbency. Different data for technical choice in this sphere are reviewed here. The anesthetics currently used and some of their combinations for general anesthesia in the horse are then reported. Different technical organization and devices for inducing recumbency in the horse are described.
