摘要
The design limits and the transient survival criteria of typical fuel elements for large Liquid Metal Fast Breeder Reactors are quantitatively analyzed. An extensive review of the limiting conditions (essentially maximum allowable cladding and fuel temperatures and tolerable amount of molten fuel) which are currently assumed by reactor designers, indicated that such conditions are conservative with respect to the expected failure limits.
