TAU-E AND TAU-MU UNIVERSALITY FROM TAU-]PI-NU DECAYS

摘要
It is pointed out that a comparison of measurements of tau --> pi-upsilon decays with pi --> mu-upsilon and pi --> e-upsilon decays can be used to obtain accurate measures of tau-mu and tau-e universality. From current data on these processes it is found that the ratios of the electroweak charged-current couplings of the tau to those of the muon and electron are g(tau)/g(mu) = 0.983 +/- 0.025 and g(tau)/g(e) = 0.986 +/- 0.026, in agreement with the hypothesis of universality.
