MODEL OF PB/ZN MINERALIZATION GENESIS IN THE CRETACEOUS BENUE TROUGH (NIGERIA) - STRUCTURAL, GEOPHYSICAL AND GEOCHEMICAL CONSTRAINTS

摘要
The lead-zinc mineralization of the Benue Trough, distributed along the main anticlinal structures, forms a belt running for about 500 km. They occur in tensional submeridian fractures resulting from the tectonic regime prevailing during the early stage of the Benue Trough infilling. The source of the mineralization is thought to be related to feldspar-rich series lying below the thick marine series and revealed by a geophysical investigation performed in the Abakaliki area.
