摘要
The objective of this Letter is to present a method for the study of the free vibration of a generally damped discrete system. The technique, developed from the force response of the undamped system, reduces the original eigenvalue problem with eigensolution within the complex domain to a common real-eigenvalue problem. Without the use of the 2n-dimensional state vector and no iteration required, this method is efficient and effective for system dynamic analysis.
