摘要：
The atomic vapor laser isotope separation (AVLIS) process can be used in the enrichment of nuclear fuels. This update describes the accomplishments of the AVLIS programme during the past year and discusses a development programme initiated by the United States that is designed to lead to a full-scale demonstration of AVLIS by 1992. A possible early deployment option involving th enrichment of reprocessed uranium (REPU) is also examined.
