Alexis de Tocqueville: Social linkage and democracy. Analysis of Sudipta Kaviraj and Partha Chatterjee theories in Indian case. The paper presents the scholar debates and reflections concerning the evolution of social conditions in India, in the context of their impact on democracy functioning. The analysis deals with two concepts of Indian authors, who built up their conclusions upon the Tocquevilles project of dependencies of two social phenomenons: democracy and unequal society. The main objective is to analyze the creation process of civil society in India and to remit incentives of mass mobilization and political interest about the masses in general. All this reflections are dealt with selected philosophical syllogism of chosen theorists. The text reassesses issue of the unique process of social inclusion whereby the masses begun to transform the whole logic of Indian civil society functioning. Thus the basis of Sudipta Kaviraj and Partha Chatterjee theories make it possible to answer on the posed questions: how does function the relation between the democracy and social inequality and how the social institutions have defined this relation in India?
