THE SUBDIVISION AND CORRELATION OF RED BEDS IN STRATA ON THE BASIS OF RENTGENOGRAFICHESKOE ANALYSIS OF MINERALS OF THE CLAY FRACTION

Analysis of red terrigenous rocks with application of the X-ray diffraction method was carried out as part of the research on the example of Upper-Sorbian sediments of the Southeastern part of the White Sea region. The first results of the experimental research are considered and the possibility was shown to differentiate and correlate red beds basing on x-ray characteristics of fine fraction of the rocks.
