摘要：

This essay offers a preliminary analysis of the contributions and limitations of the Varieties of Capitalism theoretical framework developed during the past decade. The discussion focuses on the perspective that this theory holds regarding the issue of institutional change, a topic that has been central in social sciences. We go beyond the analytical framework developed by Hall and Soskice (2001) by showing how the logic of the Varieties of Capitalism can be applied to account for the temporal dynamics of societal development.
