Nonresonant Scattering of an Electron by a Positron in the Field of a Plane Electromagnetic Wave of an Arbitrary Intensity

Nonresonant scattering of an electron by a positron in a field of a circularly polarized wave of an arbitrary intensity is studied theoretically in the general relativistic case in the first Born approximation with respect to the scattering potential. We obtain the scattering cross section in two limiting cases over the classical parameter xi, when xi << 1 and xi >> 1. It is shown that the electromagnetic field suppresses the interference of scattering and annihilation amplitudes when the quantum parameter of the photon number gamma >> 1. For a very high strength of the external field (xi >> 1), e(-)-e(+) scattering is strongly suppressed.
