摘要
An effect has been studied of diffusion conditions on parameters of planar Ag+ waveguides in glass. It has been found that the process of diffusion consists of more than one stage and it results in formation of two regions with different characteristic dependences of the refractive index on the depth (a quasi-two-layer waveguide). Technological conditions for waveguide manufacturing have been found which provide for a weak dependence of the effective refractive index of the mode on the waveguide depth and low insertion losses.
