摘要
Rabbit has the potential to convert the fibrous material to quality food for human consumption. Rabbitory is most economical and is accepted by small farmers of this region. Rabbit meat is delicious and nutritious and can be compared with those of broiler chicken. The agro-climatic condition of Himachal Pradesh is very much suitable for rabbit rearing. Cheeke and Pattan (1978) revealed that NZW rabbit grows at a rate of 31-41 g/d when lucern hay was incorporated at levels varying from 20 to 40 per cent. Literature is, however, scarce in regard to the comparative growth performance of various strains of broiler rabbits in the prevailing agroclimatic conditions. In this paper efforts have been made to compare the growth performance and feed conversion efficiency of pure strain of broiler rabbits.
