International Programme Outdoor Sculpture Conservation Internship at Kykuit, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, New York, United States of America

This paper describes and analyses the internships carried out by Bachelor students of the Restoration Programme of both the Escuela Nacional de Conservacion, Restauracion y Museografia, Instituto Nacional de Antropologia e Historia (ENCRYM-INAH, the National School of Conservation, Restoration and Museography, National Institute of Anthropology and History, Mexico) as well as the Escuela de Conservacion y Restauracion de Occidente (ecro, Eastern School of Conservation and Restoration, Mexico), in collaboration with the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF, United States of America [USA]). The programme of these scholar-ships is entitled Outdoor Sculpture Conservation Internship at Kykuit (Tarrytown-,New York [NY], USA) and started in 2010. Interviews with participating students show that the internships provide the trainees with an excellent opportunity to apply their knowledge during out-of-school situations and to strengthen their skills on a professional as well as personal level.
