摘要
The paper presents a method for evaluation of cleavage fracture probability in three district temperature domains which differ by the micromechanisms that govern cleavage initiation in spheroidized steels. The probability of cleavage initiation is used for calculation of characteristic distance and cleavage fracture toughness. Neither the formulation of conditions for the characteristic distance calculations nor the prediction of fracture toughness levels require any prior knowledge of the Weibull distribution of local strength values.
