Dysmenorrhea in women working in industries.

The dysmenorrhea is one of the most common indispositions in the women. The frequency is different from study to study, probably in relationship with difference in the groups of population studied. In some Norwegian industry with a prevalence of feminine staff, the periodic incapacity to the job due to the mestrual annoyances, become has a great problem above all when the absence it is justified by the doctor in the vision of a modern hormonal treatment. We have planned to examine the event of the menstrual annoyances particularly the dysmenorrhoea, between the feminine staff of some Italian i n d u s t r i e s. The subjects examined were employer in an electric company and in a textile industry. A questionaire prepared from a nurse of the industry, has been filled from women in menstrual age that have been visited for periodical medical visits in 2002 and 2003. Every woman suffered from pain, and the 61% had monthly disturbs reduced the ability to work. Because the 9% of the women were on estroprogestinic therapy that reduce or eliminate dysmenorrhea, the true prevalence could higher. Around 30% of the women had to stay in the bed. Around 30% was absent from the work, showing the importance of the problem.
