Sobornost is a category of philosophy of religion, innate in Russian literature and culture, and is regarded as "the soul of the Orthodox Church". In Russia, the stance against the law and grace runs through the entire history of the culture of the Orthodox Church. Sobornost reflects the new principle of the solidarity of humanity, i.e. the happy reunion of men in Christ instead'of their undifferentiated equality before law. Through the literary interpretation of specific Russian classics, Sobornost is realized and thus made possible the revelation of its potential theological significance.
