TRANSVERSAL CONDUCTIVITY IN CONDUCTORS OF CABLE-IN-CONDUIT TYPE

摘要
This paper offers a method for measuring and selecting conductivities between the strands and wires and displays the measurment results for transversal electrical conductivity between elements of a cable twisted of superconducting wires based on niobium-tin in bronze matrix, Sub-cables of 2, 3 and 4 wires and cables of 4x3, 4x4, 3x4x4 and 4x4x3 constructions are considered. The coupling losses in CIC-type cables consist of several hunderds of strands are strongly influenced by the transverse resistance, Last one can regulate by means of resistive coating of the strands, The presented method allows to measure and identify contact resistance between strands, sub-cables and multi-strands core and conductor conduit, Some experimental results for multiply twisted and compacted cables and presented, It is shown that transwerse conductivity vary within the range from 10(4) to 10(9) (Ohm*m)(-1) and for typical cases conductivity between conduit and multistrand core was much less then between strands and sub-cables.
