INVITRO SHOOT MULTIPLICATION OF GRAPEVINE ROOTSTOCK

Nodal segments excised from in vitro plantlets of '1103' grapevine rootstock were inoculated on "C2D" media supplemented with 6-benzylamino purine (0.0, 5.0 x 10(-4), 10.0 x 10(-4) and 20.0 x 10(-4) g.l.-1) and naphthalene acetic acid (0.0, 1.0 X 10(-4), 10.0 X 10(-4) and 100.0 X 10(-4) g.l.-1) at all possible combinations. The experiments were realized under 16/8-hours photoperiod, 26/20-degrees-C thermoperiod and 35 u.E.m.-2.s-1 light and were evaluated 45 days after inoculation. The best multiplication and growth was registred with 5.0 X 10(-4) and 10.0 X 10(-4) g.l.-1 BAP. The addition of naphthalene acetic acid reduced the multiplication and growth of nodal segments. The explants from the apical part produced greater number of shoots than those of the middle and basal parts.
